In charge of firmware and software for a blood diagnosis medical device. Designed bare metal system control firmware in C for an embedded system including a variety of sensors and actuators and design of real-time precise motor control algorithms for Maxon BLDC motors. Designed desktop based control applications and Unix based touchscreen applications to control the medical device for end user UIs and for internal testing with engineers and assay scientists.

Designed an IoT wireless sensor module for monitoring the health of honeybee hives. Led the development of the device from concept to certified, commercially available product. Responsibilities included system design, prototyping, hardware and firmware design, enclosure design and manufacturing including liaising with external manufacturers and contractors.

Performed initial research on an adjustable UV and visible light heat lamp for indoor crop growth. Characterised various commercially available high-power UV LEDs.

Designed an ARM microcontroller-based system to record digital data from a technician’s measurement device (Torque wrench) and transmit over Bluetooth to a wireless AR headset. Gained a wealth of experience with programming microcontrollers using C as well as experience with the Bluetooth Low Energy API.
