A contract role providing project management services within the Infrastructure Management team. - Initiated £1m project to migrate 60+ Cannons gyms onto the Nuffield WAN as part of a programme of work following the acquisition of Cannons by Nuffield. - Project managed the delivery into service of a new remote access facility for over 500 users, migrating from a Cisco VPN with RSA token authentication to a Citrix VPN with PINSafe authentication. This reduced costs for both internet circuit rental and remote access licences by over £110K per annum. - Business Case groundwork for a £520K project to introduce a VMWare-based comprehensive test facility covering all major application suites in use at Nuffield.

A contract role providing project management and line management services for a team of 6. I was responsible for infrastructure projects, 2nd line support (including ITIL problem management) and data centre operations in Kelly Services’ European HQ. - Managed project to improve globalisation of operational process by implementing follow-the-sun network monitoring. This was achieved through the use of the operations team in Kelly HQ in Detroit, resulting in cost savings due to more effective use of that team, and more proactive and effective monitoring of the European network. - Managed the implementation of a branch equipment upgrade across all Kelly Services offices in the UK and Ireland resulting in increased performance, equipment standardisation and improved monitoring/management capabilities.

On promotion to ICT Manager in October 2004, I was responsible for network infrastructure, databases, applications and website development within BLS, running a team of 5 staff and a budget of approximately £500K. - Managed a major overhaul of the BLS server-side infrastructure, including introduction of improved backup, UPS and air conditioning facilities and implementation of a storage area network, resulting in greatly improved stability and performance - Managed the introduction of an effective test environment which utilised virtualisation technology, allowing BLS for the first time to proactively and securely test changes to their network prior to roll-out - Delivered improved remote working facilities through use of VPN over ADSL - Implemented externally hosted email anti-virus and anti-spam service - Introduced a data integration tool, populating the SQL-based datamart with data from the Domino CRM system

Responsible for the customer database and for the Lotus Domino-based CRM application. During this time I successfully completed formal project management (PRINCE2) and line management training. - Managed project to implement an email marketing solution, used to communicate with 16,000+ small businesses in Surrey. This involved implementation of a SQL Database that was synchronised with the CRM system. - Managed project to increase the BLS customer database from 10,000 to 40,000 records whilst maintaining a direct mail return rate under 1%. This involved close liaison with the marketing team. - Developed the CRM application in line with changes in Business Link reporting requirements.
