This role entailed dealing with managing a range of challenging treasury and cash management matters in a competitive business environment. Such matters included cash flow forecasting, managing liquidity, working capital and efficient cash management for the Group.A key part of the role included frequent interaction with Group bankers to provide regular communication around company operational and finance matters. This position included responsibility for finance, system and process improvements in the Environmental Services division (trading as Clearcircle Environmental) of One51 plc. The division had businesses in both Ireland and the UK and had in excess of 1,000 employees.

Group activities included the sale and rental of commercial property, an auto care services and tyre business with several depots throughout Dublin, and minority investments in other businesses including a sports management company.

McCormicks were the Caterpillar dealer for Ireland. The group was a family owned business that had been in existence for over 75 years. At the time of my leaving Group turnover was approx. +€140m and there were +400 staff.

Lynex Developments was a Motor Accessories distributor that owned and operated a number of businesses including Lenwoods Cash & Carry and Edmunds Walker.

This start up business was a newspaper publisher; originally of a sports paper `The Title`, which later re-launched as a general newspaper `Ireland on Sunday`.
