Colm lead Goodbody's real estate investment banking sector in both the UK and Ireland providing strategic analysis, advisory, and insight on key listed property companies and REITs. Colm's deep sector knowledge and international reach via a breadth of relationships with international institutional investors and corporates, quickly established Goodbody Real Estate as one of the leading sector brokers in the UK, and dominant in Ireland. Colm provided strategic financial advice and capital markets solutions for investor and corporate clients, with particular highlights including the IPO (€350m) and subsequent privatisation (€1.1bn) of Hibernia REIT, a Dublin office focused vehicle, the fundraising of ~£700m for Supermarket Income REIT between 2018 and 2021, the listing of Hammerson (£960m) on the Irish Stock Exchange, and brokership winning and fundraising for Yew Grove REIT (€125m). The public markets advisory was overlaid with consistent private market advisory, fund raising, strategy and management for leading UK and Irish builders, developers and investors.Colm was consistently a top-ranked real estate analyst according to the Thomson Reuters Extel Survey between 2016 and 2021 (when the survey stopped).

Role Responsibilities:• I was responsible for developing MSCI real estate investment research and consultancy revenue across the UK & Irish client group;• I developed detailed analysis for investment strategy, asset allocation and risk management to investors on property, portfolio and fund level while also providing detailed portfolio measurement and performance analytics;• Fulfilled a senior advisory role to UK & Irish real estate investors providing consultative support including specific client work where deeper analytical research is required;• Responsible for building, managing and developing quantitative and qualitative analysis specifically focusing on economic and real estate market trends;• Built key relationships with MSCI market information subscription clients to ensure that MSCI Index data is widely adopted and correctly used within the industry;• Supported MSCI sponsorship relations and information requirements, taking the lead with surveyor/agency clients;• Spokesman for the UK & Irish market delivering MSCI Index results at the Quarterly Results Briefings and have secured significant speaking slots at other mainstream industry events;• Active engagement with the academic community to ensure the widespread penetration of MSCI real estate data in academic literature and events;• Regularly provided ideas and solutions to the Product Managers to improve and enhance MSCI products and services;• Significant successes in raising the awareness of MSCI performance and risk reporting by maintaining regular newsfeeds to various media and press channels.I was also the principle trainer for external CPD courses covering real estate investment, property market information, performance and portfolio strategy for the UK & Irish business.

Colm served as Secretary General of Europe's largest political youth organisation, the Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP) until May 2015. Elected to this position at Congress in Sofia in May 2013 from an electorate of over 1.6M European's having been nominated by the Irish Prime Minister, Enda Kenny as the candidate of the Irish government party, Fine Gael. In addition to his political role, Colm also sits on the EPP Working Group on Economic and Social Affairs in Brussels and developed EPP policy regarding the Basel III Accords. This EPP Working Group is one of the most influential working groups in Europe, regularly attended by EU Commissioners and leading politicians & MEPs. More recently, Colm authored YEPP policy on ECB Bank Regulation and has actively opposed, and lobbied against, proposals for the introduction of a "Tobin Tax" in the EU. As part of his YEPP role, Colm has been invited to act as an external advisor and speaker at a number of European Institutions, Think-Thanks and NGO's. This has included the leading American think-tank, the National Democratic Institute, where Colm assisted in developing youth employment initiatives in the Balkan region. Recent conferences have included the Princeton University Trans-Atlantic EU-US Conference where Colm spoke on ECB Monetary Policy. Upcoming conference's where Colm is speaking include the European Economic & Social Committee and The European Defence & Security Industry Europe in 2020 Seminar.Note: The EPP comprises 16 European governments and Heads of State and is the most influential European grouping in the European Parliament, Commission and Council.Key

Prior to the introduction of the Irish REIT regime in Budget 2013, Colm was a member of the Irish REITs Forum, a policy and lobby group established to push for the establishment of such a structure in Ireland. Colm's MPhil research was focused on the development of such an Irish structure, utilising assets within NAMA, and other bad banks. While at IPD/MSCI, Colm leveraged his extensive experience in the UK REITs system to advise on the emerging Irish REIT vehicles. This included portfolio and asset management strategy, allocation, and performance management.

Employed immediately on completion of university finals as a graduate surveyor in the Investment and Asset Management departments, however, following the offer of a Master's place at Cambridge, I left to further pursue my studies.In the Investment department I worked as part of a domestic and international investment team. I assisted in portfolio sales and purchases for institutional and private clients. I was involved in all aspects of pre sales/purchase due diligence. I also assisted in the development a management pitch for a new tax efficient property investment fund by a leading Irish/European bank. In the Asset Management department, I was involved in the day-to-day management of the rapidly expanding and changing asset management department with responsibility for client and customer management, and direct responsibility to the department director for a large number of key client property accounts during a challenging and high-competitive period of decline in the Irish property market.
