As a Presales specialist, it is my job to build HANA POCs for our EMEA customers. Since I am based in Dublin, we form a larger virtual account team. I use my advanced knowledge of the HANA platform and other technologies to deliver both innovation and outstanding results to potential customers. The goal of each POC is to position the power, innovation and integration of the HANA platform. • Working with the customer to scope the requirements and to understand their success criteria.• Selecting suitable hardware and installing / configuring the SAP software.• Gathering the data and loading it into HANA.• Building innovative HANA POCs that far exceed the initial benchmark. It is more than showing that HANA is faster. Instead, I demonstrate the ease-of-use of a single platform that hosts not only a database but services for BI, Hadoop, Text Analysis, Predictive, Spatial, etc.• Delivering POC presentations and responding to technical questions from the customer.• I have worked on over 100 POCs. For some of these POCs, I have lead them and for others I was part of a much larger global team. • As SAP HANA has become a mature technology, the demand for POCs has reduced. However, the need for customer training has increased. I created an AWS training landscape for customers that want SAP Predictive Analytics training on the HANA platform. • Delivering training.

I am a member of the SAP HANA presales solutions centre based in Dublin. We build innovative and winning Proof of Concepts that convince our EMEA customers choose the in-memory HANA database over more traditional disk-based databases.

Role and responsibilities:From 2007 to 2011, I worked on the client site of a large public sector body and I was a key member of the BI and DWH team. As part of this project, I developed a number of open source BI applications, which were the first of their kind developed by Accenture Ireland. Routine tasks have included; - Project estimates- Requirements analysis and data mappings - Technical design (conceptual model, logical model, dimensional model, physical model)- OLAP - Dashboard design and build - ETL and XML parsing - Dealing with multiple datasources of a heterogeneous nature- Unix batch scheduling and support - Java development- SQLHighlights:- I migrated the client's reporting mechanisms from OLTP reporting to dimensional modeling. - I transitioned the client's reports from a row-store database to a column-store database.As a senior member of the team, I was responsible for mentoring and supervising the work of others.
