As CVS Health merged with Aetna my role was realigned to give me additional responsibility and flexibility to support the military and veteran community. In addition to the work listed below I help our businesses improve the support and services that impact the health and wellness of veterans and the families that support them. Our Workforce Initiatives team enables our purpose of helping people on their path to better health by building non-traditional talent pipelines through the power of creative partnerships in order to demonstrate we recognize each person’s value and help individuals unlock their full potential.Lead a team responsible for:- Military: Provide support across the enterprise to help our leaders understand the unique needs of the military community as our patients, customers, and candidates. - Community Operations: We work with partners to help people break the cycle of poverty through innovative and creative training programs.- Marketing & Communications: Support the Workforce Initiative team's ability to tell our story to our candidates, colleagues and partners as well as our Chief Diversity Officer.

This role was aligned under the Talent Acquisition team to help people with military experience (active, National Guard, Reserves and spouses) find employment. I advised our leaders how military issues impact our business and help developed solutions for those issues we can address. I also worked closely with outside organizations to identify partnerships that support our company's mission and improve our support to the military community.

➢ Built a program that did not exist before I was hired.➢ Developed a new global website and game that communicated the value of all business groups and brands and the opportunities available on those teams. ➢ Provided marketing expertise with an emphasis on social media to start-up companies and major advertising agencies.

➢ Lead a team of 64 employees and 7 agency partners with a budget of $423 million ➢ Developed and implemented a new campaign (Army Strong - Strength Like No Other) which unlike previous campaigns was integrated across all marketing platforms (advertising, digital and outreach). FY09 included production of 15 television commercials, 300+ support and web videos, 13 print ads, over 14 million pieces of direct mail, 8 radio ads, over 21 million pieces of collateral (brochures, posters, etc), more that 70 digital banners, quarterly updates on website costing over $10 million and over 175 personal presentation items. ➢ Army’s senior marketing executive in support of more than 2,000 “retail” recruiting locations and a sales force of over 8,000 active and reserve recruiters.

➢ This program has been rebranded as the Secretary of Defense Executive Fellowship Program➢ Selected as 1 of 8 officers from all four services to work with Fortune 500 companies to identify best practices that the Department of Defense could use. Results were presented to the Under Secretary of Defense in addition to several Service Secretaries and Chiefs of Staff.➢ Developed a business plan for the Personal Protection Division of DuPont to help them expand their business in the government sector. Elements of the plan were integrated into FY09.

➢ Served as a Strategic Planner on a communications team that developed messaging for the Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff, Army. Team developed communications to Congress, across the enterprise and in response to public inquiries during a crisis.➢ Member of eight person team responsible for writing the Army Posture Statement which is the Secretary of the Army’s written testimony to Congress on the state of the Army and plan for the upcoming fiscal year.

➢ Commander of the largest Multiple Launch Rocket System Battalion in the U.S. Army.➢ Responsible for training and sustaining 625 U.S. and Korean Soldiers for all assigned missions. For two consecutive years, Soldiers from the unit were selected as the 2nd Infantry Division Soldier of the Year. One of these Soldiers went on to be runner up for Soldier of the Year for the US Army.➢ Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of movement of over 1300 pieces of equipment via convoy, rail, ship and air in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Also responsible for the movement of over 5000 Soldiers from the Republic of Korea to Kuwait. This was the largest movement of U.S. personnel from Korea since the end of the Korean War. Lessons learned were documented and shared to develop a Korea Theater Deployment Standing Operating Procedure. Unit presented the Chief of Staff, Army Deployment Excellence Award for running the best deployment in the Army in 2004.➢ Managed an annual $2.7 million budget for the purpose of maintaining 150 combat vehicles and equipment worth over $200 million. Exceeded Department of the Army maintenance standards by having an operational readiness rating over 90%. ➢ Responsible for the reception, training and redeployment of a 90 Soldier unit from Germany that culminated in a live fire. This was a test of the Army’s concept for rotating units to Korea. Test acclaimed a success by Commander in Chief, US Forces Korea.

➢ Responsible for the deployment of Multiple Launched Rocket Sytems (MLRS) unit to support operations in Bosnia.

➢ Lead 13 peers responsible for instruction of junior officers and writing doctrine for the Field Artillery. ➢ Responsible for the publication of a Fire Support White Paper for the development of new doctrine.

➢ Provided support to FROKA leading a liaison element of special force communication specialists working with the 2ID Aviation Brigade in support of Operation Roving Sentry.

➢ Responsible for the training, health and welfare of 110 soldiers and over $13 million worth of equipment. ➢ Deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of "Operation Sea Signal." Responsible for the day-to-day security, health and welfare of over 5000 Cuban and Haitian Refugees. Worked very closely with other military services, US Immigration and non-governmental organizations.
