ART: I started my artistic career as a media artist in mid-1990's working mainly with digital and interactive projects exploring new technologies, but I also worked with print making, illustration and installations. Currently my work with art has emphasis on the latter. For almost twenty years I worked with web based projects (website design + some; also consulting on online marketing and PR) for the cultural foundations/societys and other operators in creative field. Since 2014 I have concentrated fully on my work as artist, working with self-initiated projects in print-making and new media, and some illustration commissions. I'm available to work with creative online projects, which need an experimental point of view. For me it's never about money - it's always about how interesting the project is!VIEW ON TECHNOLOGY: I have a love/hate relationship with online technology. As much as the internet gives you the possibilities to make all kinds of projects in interaction with people from all over the world, sometimes the fact, that it's still cold technology you work with, gets you. Everything you do ends up somewhere in the air – or actually in ones and zeros in someones hard disk or in some cloud somewhere, in a place that doesn't really exist. That is why I need to have some counter balance: I tend to keep the things quite earthy. I'm interested in working with true interactivity, where the person's choices aren't necessary made consciously, but they still affect somehow.COLOUR: I'm a big fan of colour. I consider my Coloria.net website (all about colour, in Finnish) to be my life's greatest work. I write about colour and I give lectures and workshops on colour, mainly about the general history of colours and pigments, how colour affects on us, and about the global symbolisim of colour. I've also done some very experimental dyeing with natural dyes and biowaste, and I have given natural dyeing workshops.
