Stepped away from a great job at a community bank and seat on the Chamber's Board of Directors into the Executive Director role to help a Chamber that had been struggling for years, and that the COVID pandemic had pushed to the brink of insolvency. Developed and implemented new strategies to improve the Chamber's ability to support small-businesses and economic development. While also leveraging knowledge of emerging remote worker and co-working space trends to create a new source of revenue for the Chamber.• Cleaned up over 3 years of finances, and unfiled tax returns to restore the Chamber's non-profit status.• Restructured membership and sponsorship structure to improve revenue.• Increased revenue from a 3yr avg of $49k per year to over $151k in my first full year. Including applying for and receiving over $64k in grants.• Designed, negotiated, and oversaw construction of a new Chamber Business Resource Center. Relocating the Chamber from a 600SQFT office to an 8,500SQFT building in the heart of downtown offering co-working, meeting, and event space.• Developed partnerships with Region 9 and SBDC to come be part of the new space, and help offer business consulting and training to achieve my goal of creating a true one-stop-shop for business info and resources.• Negotiated an additional $174k in in-kind contributions to cover the remodeling costs and furniture for the Business Resource Center and Co-working space for over $325k in total revenue and investment inthe Chamber in 1 year. Nearly 5x the Chamber's best year in available records of $67k.
