Throughout my time at York Exponential, I have worked in several roles - I led our software team in developing our multi-robot robot agnostic control system into something that makes automation integrations faster and more robust, as well as provided unique integrations combining computer vision, AI, customer databases, and traditional industrial control hardware. Throughout a project's lifecycle, I would help guide our software and mechanical engineering teams in making smart system-level decisions to provide economical and robust solutions for our customers. Although I eventually focused on building software for the industrial space that pushed the envelope for industrial software, I was initially hired as a mechanical engineer for robot automation installations. Working as a sales engineer, I met with potential customers, toured facilities, gathered requirements, simulated automation cells, and designed and programmed robotic installations. As a part of York Exponential's R&D team, I worked on hardware prototypes and began designing the above-mentioned control system to speed York Exponential's integrations as well as extend integrations to include AI models and novel equipment not normally available to industrial machine integrators.

At TORC Robotics, I worked as a part of a small mechanical engineering team supporting drive-by-wire and autonomous ground vehicle (AGV) integrations for the construction and defense spaces. This included designs supporting RF equipment such as radio enclosures and adjustable antenna mounts as well as an air-brake control system for heavy trucks. In addition, I helped maintain and update several manufacturing projects - updating packaging designs, adjusting bill-of-materials, and preparing test articles for compliance testing.

At NCEE Labs, I began as an intern but transitioned to Test Engineer after graduating. There I would design, build, and program automated testing platforms. For automation, I would primarily work with LabVIEW but I also automated test report generation in VisualBasic. I would also prepare and execute compliance testing as well as write reports afterward and discuss results with customers. In some cases, if a test specification changed or if an uncommon test was being quoted I would help plan tests and ensure NCEE's continued compliance with these tests by verifying test methods, equipment, and lab conditions.
