my job description for MBM CP was to supervise the First Year students and any other assistant technicians that were helping out with the shows if the leader wasn’t there or was busy with another aspect of the event. I am also require to know how to and be able to set-up the stages, equipment (speakers, amps, mics, cables) and front of house (FOH) and show the assistant technicians how to as well. The stage equipment is made up of the stage itself, the speakers, the drums, the amps, and mics. With this I need to know how to connect the speakers to the amps and then the speakers to the mixing board, and run the speaker cables right so that they put out sound in stereo. I will also need to know how to work and set-up the FOH equipment like the EQ and the mixer, for this I will be required to make sure the cables are plugged into the right order and spots. I am also responsible for making sure the snake cable is then plugged into the right spots in the mixer. After everything is set-up right I am responsible for doing a sound check and being able to figure out how to fix any problems or make the system sound better.
