For as far back as my memory goes, my passions have focused on creating things, especially for those around me. Whether it was the small Lego kits I would build for my sister as a child or the novel I began to write during my late high school years, I found a love in creating things for others. Seeing how my work and drive could bring so much joy and creativity in themselves helped me find my footing in engineering. Currently, I am an undergraduate student in my third year at NC State studying Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control Systems. This topic and focus help fuel my passion for solving complex obstacles and wanting to be challenged while fulfilling my creative needs. I have a background in electrical wiring and its technical aspects from my prior part-time work as a Low Voltage Technician and an in-depth knowledge of Control Theory and modern application from my studies. I currently operate as a full-time student while doing independent research on the application of control systems in the theme park industry while searching for further work. I am also certified in several CAD programs, such as AUTOCAD and Inventor, as well as in the Microsoft programs Word and Excel. I have experience with programs such as MATLAB and Simulink as well. I have recently attended the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo, also known as IAAPA, where I have networked and have been able to discuss the technological advancements and future of the industry with companies. My goal is to break through within this industry as a Controls Engineer so I can continue to pursue my dream of creating and giving back.
