(Needs Updated) My educational and professional experiences allow me to have a multifaceted and out-of-the-box approach to not only cybersecurity, but problem-solving overall. My work ethic and passion alone will push me to be successful in this area, and those two things cannot be taught to someone. I hold a degree in Business Informatics where I learned programming, computer architecture, database, networking, and systems. In addition to my formal education, I have completed security courses including Information Assurance, Digital Forensics, and Cyberwar and the Intelligence Community. I am currently completing the Offensive Computer Security Freeware course. In preparation for the Offensive Computer Security course, I read “Programming from the Ground Up” by Jonathan Bartlett and “C Programming in Linux” by David Haskins. Each of these gave me insight to how computers work at a low-level, including Binary, Assembly, and Registers' interaction with the kernel to allow high-level languages, which I'm more experienced with, to function. Aside from technical expertise, I have notable communication skills. I am not only fluent in English, but can speak and communicate in Spanish, as well as read and write Russian. During my current internship at INL with National and Homeland Security, and my previous internship with ISU’s Informatics Research Institute (IRI) collaborating with National Information Assurance Training and Education Center (NIATEC), I have learned and written about various cybersecurity concepts and research ideas including: Industrial Control Systems, SCADA Systems, Risk Analysis, Penetration Testing, new developments in 5G, and others.
