Once I discovered the cause-effect between need and my ability to fill the need, I never looked back. I knew I would have a great career in sales. Selling “Relationship,” the first R. Building confidence through trust, that’s relationship. By taking time to know prospects, educate and promote product benefits, I realized a high close rate and built a growing book of business. And by dedicating time to make phone calls, corresponding directly, and building relationships, I quickly discovered that I not only loved helping people, I also loved bringing solutions that worked to make it happen. When solution meets need, it is easier to overcome objections. I build credibility by presenting proven solutions to create a strong value proposition. Trust is crucial to building relationships and I establish trust by understanding patient/ client issues and illuminating hidden needs to increase sales.Maintaining a winning attitude when, after researching, networking, lunches, meetings, and consulting, the sales goes to a competitor, that’s “Resiliency,” the second R. It’s the biproduct of a winning attitude. It keeps me coming back because I believe no relationship is ever wasted.“Retention,” the 3rd “R.” Once a prospect becomes a client, relationship, and resiliency feed retention. Clients will need follow up, training, and future products. And for the prospect who did not buy? Once someone becomes a friend, they never lose my attention. They’re in my network. I may need them and someday, they may realize they need me.
