Research Project Title: “3D Bioprinting of Cells – To Develop Hydrogels with Complex Architecture, Capable of Cell Encapsulation”o Fabrication of polymers via the RAFT polymerisation method. o These polymers were then combined with specific crosslinkers to synthesise hydrogels. The cell support and mechanical properties of the hydrogels were investigated and optimised. o The cells used for encapsulation were HeLa cells and C2C12 cells.

I was fortunate to have a work placement opportunity with a Pfizer facility in Cork, Ireland (April –September 2013). Working in City Sightseeing Toronto gave me the confidence to deal with high stress environments, and deal with a high volume of customers.o I was responsible for numerous buses. These buses would have to be directed and controlled via radio for the day. This involved making far reaching decisions with very little preparation.o Working the night shift, involved dealing with large amounts of money and ensuring that totals were accurate.
