Responsible for customer acceptance testing with vendors for new data products on the network as well as software upgrades.Acceptance testing for external SMPP connections to Acision SMSC’s within Optus for new SMS gateway project, including GUI interface acceptance testing.Heavily involved in project work from planning phase to the configuration and implementation phase. International SMS was one such product requirement from Marketing of which I was the sole prime. This involved working closely with marketing, as revenue was the requirement. Strict deadlines for a set amount of live overseas carriers had to be met including regression testing for all. AA19 agreements had to be signed for each carrier and returned as well as exchange of technical documents, IR21’s for update across relevant Optus nodes, SMSC’s, HLR’s, DMS300’s.In-depth regression testing to include all numbering schemes and GT’s of each SMSC from the overseas carriers making sure all Optus customers could receive international SMS.Datafilling translation files on all SMSC’s to open up number ranges to each overseas carrier as well as updating mobile network aims.Working closely with network operations explaining each planned works and documenting implementation plans as well as performing each planned upgrade. Writing of job aids and technical work instruction including all troubleshooting. Working closely with marketing as more and more carriers went live, 202 in total before a mailshot was posted to entire Optus GSM customer base of 6 million subscribers informing them of the new service.Also responsible for testing of web originated international SMS for Optus.Oracle, SQL queries & ESME’s, AIM setup on SMSC’sMessaging Application Router & Foreign Subscriber Gateway CAT testing with SMSC vendor, Logica.Prepare engineering documents for network implementation always working to time driven deadlines.
