My responsibilities was : Officer of the Watch on bridge at sea and, in harbours in charge of cargo handling in C.C.R; Cargo operations, ballast transfer and stability check during his watch in accordance with C/O instructions; In charge of the mooring team at forward or aft station; Under Master Authority, is in charge of communications in Emergency situations (SMPEP & Musters); Corrections and Orders of ALL nautical charts, books and publications; Passage planning and pilot plans: prepares, edits, stores and updates the required information; In charge of preparing compulsory messages: SURNAV or other country equivalent message; Receipt of last weather forecasts and last navigational warnings of the area before departure; In charge of the navigation and bridge instruments updating, maintenance, replacement and spare parts inventory and/or order (including course recorder, AIS, VDR, Radar log book, fax, printers …); In charge of radio and GMDSS tests and record, documentation updating, spare parts inventory. I used also to : control accuracy of all common clocks on board, bridge, CCR, Engine room, including the internal clocks of fitted equipments as, but not limited to / Main alarm system / Navigational equipments / Fire detection / Course recorder / etc. Prepare the arrival ship documentation and harbour specific requirements; Control Safety assignment in accordance with muster lists and ship's specific procedures; Fill on a daily basis both Individual Rest Hours and Individual Working Hours Report with Company Forms; Improve my knowledge by participating in CBT program on board including records. I was in charge of Emergency drills as per Safety Officer request and any other tasks according to pertinent orders from Master.
