IBDH is a privately held Australian mining junior and Australia's newest producer of rare Fancy Coloured diamonds. IBDH is responsible for the discovery of a major new alluvial diamond deposit in the Ellendale diamond field of Western Australia. The company produces rare Fancy coloured diamonds including the highly prized "Ellendale Fancy Yellows". IBDH derives its name from the historic nearby livestock watering hole of "India Bore".

As one of Australia's most experienced trade officials, Patrick was appointed as Victoria's inagural Commissioner to the Republic Korea, following the signing of the Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement in 2014. The Commissioner is Victoria's chief representative with broad responsibility for representing Victorian commercial, economic, tourism, cultural and educational interests in Korea. Appointment to the position of Commissioner for Victoria is made by a Governor-in-Council order under an Act of Parliament.

With a primary focus on bi-lateral trade, inward investment and tourism, Patrick led a period of unprecedented growth and expansion of Victoria's representative presence in China, establishing the largest network of representative offices of any provincial level government in the world (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Nanjing, Chengdu and Guangzhou). In 2012, Patrick was directly responsible for leading the "on the ground " delivery delivery of Australia's largest ever trade and investment mission to China with more than 650 delegates, resulting in record levels of both trade and investment outcomes for Victorian businesses. A follow up mission in 2013 included more than 450 delegates and in 2014 he personally led Australia's largest ever financial services mission to China, was responsible for delivering Victoria's program in the national Australia Week in China initiatives and was instrumental in establishing a strategic agreement between the State of Victoria and the China Development Bank for major infrastructure development. Strategically raising Victoria's profile at the forefront of China's outward bound investment community, Patrick facilitated an increase the level of Victorias inbound investment from China by more than 300 percent was directly responsible for facilitating more than $400m of direct investment to Victoria.Appointment to the position of Commissioner for Victoria is made by a Governor-in-Council order under an Act of Parliament.
