As Patient Experience Advisors, our interest is to assist in the betterment of the organization’s interaction and dynamics with the community it serves. As advisors, we will work closely with you and your team using evidence-based approaches to implement service standards for best practices. We will use our platform to help and support decisions, as well as empower providers and staff in the decision-making process. Based on the HCAHPS scores, we want to focus on positive and appropriate changes to suit the needs of all. Together we can build a culture of open communication and partnership to support and improve the patient’s experience at MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC). Advisors can be trusted to support staff and provide professional guidance and knowledge on many complex aspects of patient care. Staff can trust and rely on our expertise to support them in applying the values and behaviors associated with giving excellent care and optimizing the overall patient experience.Angela White brings to the role of Patient Experience Advisor, 25 years of notable Health Care Experience at Medstar Health. Angela originally joined MWHC in 1994; she transferred to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH) in 2003, and returned to MWHC in 2019, to provide her institutional knowledge and expertise to inform and enhance the Patient Experience at MWHC. Angela’s experience at MWHC includes performance improvement, personnel management, and administrative responsibilities in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Blood Donor Services. She also supported MWHC first responders on 9/11. At MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Angela supervised Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology (IR) & Neuro Interventional Radiology, and an MGUH Decontamination Immediate Response Team member (DIRT). Angela’s process improvement initiatives include CGCAHPS at MGUH, creating MedStar out-patient clinic manuals, developing improvements for discharging 23-hour observations at MGUH ambulatory clinics and serving on the IR Strategic Planning Committee. Angela is also an FDA-certified research study coordinator, MedStar Hygiene Observer, MedStar Safety coach, and a MedStar Patient Ambassador.As a Ph.D. student in Public Health, Angela has traveled to over 20 countries studying Patient Experience and end-of-life care. She holds a B.S. in Healthcare Management; mid-point in her MPH, completed Georgetown University’s Mini-Medical School, is the Member-At-Large for the National Society of Healthcare Management; a member of the National Society of
