CurrentMary P. Murphy is an artist in upstate New York, with a studio in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains where the surrounding landscape and natural beauty inspire many of her works. She has been recognized in regional shows with master status and awards.After a successful career in corporate communications as a speechwriter, she is now dedicated to art full time. Mary is also committed to lifelong learning, and she has taken advantage of resources in her region, including the Munson-Williams Art Institute, an affiliate of Pratt Institute, and workshops by premier national watercolorists at View, the art center in Old Forge, New York. She has a Masters degree in communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has pursued independent study and workshop courses with respected artists such as Jim McFarlane, president of the American Watercolor Society, Steven Quiller, Ted Nuttall, and Martha Deming--all accomplished masters in their own right.
