CurrentAs part of our New Jersey Community Solar initiatives, Solar Landscape works with low income housing providers, local governments and community non-profit organizations to improve the sustainability and livability of the communities in which we work to help ensure environmental justice. Community Solar helps communities avoid and eventually retire, dirty power plants; which spew harmful toxins and air pollution. Solar energy reduces dependence on fossil fuels, and the energy produced by photovoltaic (PV) systems reduces residents’ energy bills and eases demand on the power grid. A successful program reflects shared goals, values, and priorities and includes meaningful partnerships with local non-profits, cities and townships and community leaders. Solar Landscape provides 51% of the discounted energy we produce to low- and moderate-income households. Additionally, we offer no-cost solar energy job training to the community through our subsidiary, Launch Solar. Achieving our goals will lessen human impacts on the environment, strengthen local economies, and engage community members in analyzing issues, generating visions, developing plans, and monitoring outcomes.
