Floorhand
Bakersfield, California, United States
It was during the downturn in windpower development, that I worked as a floorhand on some of the drilling rigs; I asked questions from the men whom I grew to trust, concerning much of the downhole explorations, including directional drilling specialists, geologists and well-logging professionals from companies such as #Schlumberger and #Haliburton. The most useful information came to me from the crews that worked on well stimulation...acid, nitrogen injection and fracturing formations. The most interesting part of the research was tied to learning what the acid is supposed to do to the well to stimulate oil/gas production. The answer came from a journal unrelated to oil and gas...National Geographic, which did a cover story in May/June of 2002, about the effects of acid in caves in Southern #Mexico. This may explain what acid does to oceans, to convert sea water into natural gas under pressure...Still actively studying this exciting field, and its impact on climate changes.
