The Psychiatric Response Team Supervisor coordinates the care of identified patients with mental health needs who enter the Emergency Department or are admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. The supervisor manages the assessment, treatment planning, and disposition of these patients and collaborates with the other members of the Psychiatric Response Team and medical center staff to ensure smooth operations and clear communication of treatment and placement. This role oversees approximately 15 employees, manages schedules, approves payroll, and is responsible for ethical behavior and productivity of direct reports, including clinical supervision when appropriate. This role oversees the coordination of appropriate transfer of patients according to EMTALA and develops relationships with mental health facilities within and outside the greater Sacramento community to provide appropriate disposition of patients in critical conditions. The supervisor liaisons with other Sutter center managers from inpatient and emergency departments to provide cross referrals and appropriate inter-Sutter transfers. The clinical services program coordinator ensures quality interventions, groups, and services for all adolescent inpatients according to their needs and diagnoses in the Acute Adolescent Psychiatric Department. This position works closely with the Department Director and Medical Director to ensure the quality of care. The duties of the clinical services program coordinator oversee the internship training program and provide guidance, didactics, specific Brief: DBT, CBT, MI, and Mindfulness skills and interventions utilizing attachment-based psychodynamic, family systems, and existential overviews. This new position is being integrated into the CEEP program for the McAuley Day School. It will introduce weekly (long-term) adolescent group psychotherapy to enhance compliance with SFUSD requirements and build stronger interpersonal skillsets among students.
