Centralization of files, for instance, makes it much less expensive to develop a low cost two tier disaster recovery plan. Sharing of system resources such as printers and scanners are another way to cut costs. Instead of purchasing new computers we can backup data on existing computers and re-image the computer (basically wiping the hard drive clean and re-installing the operating system) to make them run just like new for a fraction of the cost of purchasing new computers.
