I underwent rigorous training as an Infantry Soldier in Canada's extreme weather conditions. While I earned the credentials of a Corporal, I remained a Private throughout my service due to internal military politics. I chose to leave the reserves of my own accord. By the time of my departure, I was actively training my peers. My initial motivation to join was personal growth, but I felt it had plateaued. I was among the final few of the original members to leave, once again influenced by political factors.Infantry Soldiers are the Army’s primary combat fighters and are responsible for closing with and engaging the enemy. Infantry Soldiers are capable of operating anywhere in the world in any environment – Arctic tundra, mountains, jungle or desert – and in any combination of arms, including airmobile and amphibious operations. The primary duties of an Infantry Soldiers:-Expertly operate and maintain a wide range of weapons, including rifle, hand-grenades, light, medium and heavy machine guns, and anti-tank weapons-Use sophisticated equipment for field communications, navigation, and night-vision surveillance-Inspect and maintain weapon systems, vehicles, survival gear, and personal defensive equipment-Participate in airborne operations-Operate with support elements such as fighter aircraft, tactical and artillery-Engage in unarmed combat-Employ camouflage and concealment, patrol, assault, defense, and escape-and-evasion tactics.-Use and care of personal and section-level weapons, including rifles, machine guns, and anti-tank weapons-Field-craft, including personal hygiene and meal preparation, camouflage, sentry duties, signaling, selecting firing positions, tactical movements and lines of advance-Construction of field defenses, such as trenches and roadblocks, and laying and marking of minefields-Navigation by day and by night-Patrolling operations-Infantry section and platoon tactics, including offensive, defensive and transitional operations

As a security officer, conflict management and resolution was a crucial part of the job. This involved not only diffusing potential conflicts before they escalated, but also addressing any disputes that arose and working towards a resolution that satisfied all parties involved. In some cases, this might involve mediating between two individuals or groups, while in others it could involve working with law enforcement or other outside parties to resolve the situation.Security patrols were another key duty and often involved making rounds throughout the mall to ensure that everything was secure and operating smoothly. This could include checking doors, windows, and other entry points, as well as monitoring activity within the mall to detect any potential issues or security risks. Dealing with difficult situations was also a regular part of the job, whether that meant intervening with children who were left unattended, dealing with patrons who were intoxicated or disruptive, or addressing any other situations that might arise.Report writing was another critical component of the job, as security officers were often required to document any incidents or activities that occurred during their patrols. This could include writing detailed reports on incidents, documenting any security risks or concerns, and keeping accurate records of any interactions with tenants or members of the public. Security officers needed to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times, and able to respond quickly and effectively to any potential issues or incidents. it was important for me to provide quick responses to tenant complaints, ensuring that any issues or concerns were addressed promptly and effectively. This often involved working closely with mall management to identify and resolve any problems, and providing accurate and complete reports to ensure that all parties were kept informed of any developments.
