My engineering team and I have developed and maintain a unique NGN platform called the CENGN Common Platform (CCP) located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada: --> In conjunction with CENGN's widespread membership including Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, TELUS, Allstream/Zayo, EWA, Rogers etc. as well as the academic community including Canarie, Orion, Cybera, University of Ottawa, Carleton, Algonquin College, I developed CENGN's strategic platform to provide an environment to produce and contribute to SDN and NFV related projects driven by both our membership and CENGN itself. -->We leveraged tools from the open source community coupled with our own members’ technology and services to build a platform comprised of an OpenStack based production cloud environment and project container resources. We then operationalized these systems to support and maintain our infrastructure. --> We built a deployment automation (focused on cloud and SDN) regime using a variety of automation and continuous integration (CI) tools such as Puppet Enterprise, Cobbler, Canonical MAAS and JUJU plus cloud automation frameworks like Mirantis Fuel and Canonical Landscape so that we could produce entire customized IAAS related infrastructures on demand. --> We have used the above knowledge base and operation to contribute and integrate code from projects such as Openstack, Opendaylight (ODL), Open NOS (ONOS), OPNFV (JOID Installer), Open Contrail Cloud (Juniper) and where ever it makes sense to Canadian NGN, Canadian startups and CENGN's membership.

During this time I conducted pre-sales support for Huawei and left Huawei USA in July 2012 to continue to work with Huawei partners such as CTDI and others. I was also doing executive MBA during this timeframe.

During this time I developed the BGP course for their Service Routing Architect (SRA) program and also led a team of subject matter experts for the program.

Responsible for Enterprise and Network Services technical marketing inside of the Edge Routing BU with SP Technology Group at Cisco. We were responsible for overall architectural, pre-sales, product development requirements and critical account technical support for Enterprise (WAN/MAN) and Services (security, voice, DPI etc.) product lines.

Overall responsibility for the definition of the solution and architectural insertions for the mid-range routing and services platforms at Cisco including 10720, 7200 family and the ASR1000 family of routers. The job included 3 important yet equal parts Technical, Market, Engineering.Technical:The role required a constant attention to learning and keeping abreast of the latest innovations in network and services architectures mostly in the areas of routing design, security (cryptography, perimeter, access and role based security), voice (session border controller and gateway technologies) and QOS (Deep packet inspection, hierarchical policy enforcement, application awareness) Marketing:This included the identification of possible new business development, business case, active prioritization of business objectives with the management team and direct support of R&D personnel and top customers at Cisco (both pre and post sales). Detailing and presentation of the product and related architectures was performed at the boardroom, conference and show room levels constantly and with a variety of different methods: real person, semi-virtual through technology like Webex and also 2nd Life inworld true virtual environments. Engineering:Drove the software, hardware, systems and development test teams to understand (through product requirement documents) the business plans and detailed solution and architectural specifications that drive and initiate the engineering process. This included representing the customer, marketing and product management at any and all product development forums and meetings.
