Primary responsibilities include extending and maintaining existing 2D CAD related software written in languages ranging from Ruby, Rails, VisualBasic, PHP, and more. Carlson Design provides custom software tools for creating and editing 2D patterns which then control a computer automated machine for cutting single-layer textiles.Other responsibilities include supporting customers needs with their specific applications and hardware / software support, traveling to install and train customers on how to use the product, quality control checking and minor logistics.

Entered company as a front-end web developer, quickly acquiring programming knowledge while implementing a proprietary CMS built upon the Ruby on Rails framework. Worked closely with many local and national clients. Becoming an integral part of the development team, I’ve single-handedly supported legacy clients’ codebases, laid foundations for and continued to support custom applications and taken marketing websites built upon a proprietary CMS from planning to launch.
