Licensed Practical Nurse/Certified Surgical Technologist/Health Unit Coordinator
Assist with emergency and urgent cesarean deliveries and other procedures related to women’s health in the O.R. Position or assist in positioning patients and draping for specific procedure; secure patients as required, maintain alertness for complications developing during surgery such as hemorrhage, shock and cardiac arrest and immediately supply instruments, drugs and supplies to correct the condition. Take sponge, instrument and sharps counts; measure blood and fluid loss. Responsible for all aspects of direct patient care, assessing and evaluating nursing care needs and facilitating admissions, discharges and transfers; prepares chart notes and other documentation; and participates in ordering patient tests, consults with outside providers. Provides post-surgical care of bariatric patients, proven ability to build positive relationships with patients, family members, physicians and other medical professionals.
