Their oppression and radical message need to be memorialized for humanity’s sake. Journalism, as a reporting medium, brings the facts to the page and muses on what was unsaid, but it does not fully address the impact these events have in the collective conscience of the oppressor and the oppressed. These events, therefore, need to be transformed into art as the grim reality of the event destroys all hopes for humanity if there is no effective and empowering transformation.The events of the nomination leading to the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice of the USA during September 2018 was such event. This is the writer’s effort at transforming this event, giving meaning to unstated emotions, inner cries and triggered crisis evoked by the parties to the hearing, and to the collective voices that were lost in the formality of the event.This is a hopeful and humble attempt to revendicate that which was lost, that which was not said or done, but should have been said and done, and to celebrate the courage of the few who dared to go against the establishment’s expectations to change the course of history, and to the grieving souls of the world who identified with the victim. The Ombuds is a confidential professional resource, a neutral dispute resolution practitioner who provides informal assistance to students, staff, faculty, and administrators at Pomona College. As Ombuds, I assisted visitors with a variety of concerns. I helped them to figure out options to resolve their issues, offer a different perspective, focus on alternative solutions, and reframe their views, invent and support communication channels, and provided information and referral. I had no administrative or decision-making authority on behalf of the College and my office was not an office of "notice" for the College. I followed the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the International Ombudsman Association. I was mostly a remote ombuds for many visitors. #remoteombuds
