The power to uplift and make a difference to people lives is second to none. My experience working with a range of ages of people in a variety of settings has shown me the value of the small moments that make people smile. As an Activities Director at Southampton Fresh Air Home, I had the opportunity to lead and develop the onsite activities for a summer camp that caters to young people with additional support needs. My time at SFAH changed my perspective in terms of career goals and I decided to work further in this field. I became a support worker at Buddies Clubs and Services where I got to work with young adults and children on a one to one basis in a variety of settings.My true love is with Biology, studying Marine and Freshwater Biology at Glasgow University where I got to complete a range of incredible projects such as a study into invertebrate populations of freshwater ecosystems. I also worked at Coral Reef Aquarium for six years being able to share my love for fish-keeping. A career in which I am able to blend these two important aspects together, biology and working with others, is what I strive for. I am currently completing my PGDE in Biology at the University of Glasgow where I will graduate into the teaching profession and fulfil a lifelong goal.
