Reality is complex, and irreducible to a single idea. The reality of what appears to be a single idea is always rich and multi-faceted, made up of many connections.That is why Big Data is big. Because a single data point gains meaning by being connected to a thousand other data points, and when all those connections are combined, one sees a new picture that emerges. But what is a data point? That number or word represents an experience which we are trying to bound.A word, a number, a button, a function in a program - all are data points, slices of larger realities. And it is only by assembling all these points that we can assemble reality itself.
