Connective Parenting is dedicated to helping parents understand what makes both themselves and their children tick. I am passionate about teaching our parenting world how and why to let go of the ineffective traditional ways of reward and punishment and how and why to replace them with connection and problem solving.I began many years ago establishing The Parent Guidance Center in Peterborough, NH which has since transformed into The Family Center (now The River Center) which continues to offer support and education to families among many other family resources. My work has since taken me to many parts of the world and touching families internationally.

The professional training is for certification to teach the "When Your Kids Push Your Buttons" concepts and theories in conjunction with one's own work and/or to become a certified Buttons educator and teach the full program "When Your Kids Push Your Buttons" for parents. I founded The Parent Guidance Center in 1990 for the purpose of parent education classes. The PGC merged with another local service organization to form The Family Center, which has since morphed into The River Center www.rivercenter.us where we continue parent education and support and child enrichment programs as well as many other programs to benefit the entire community.

I consider The River Center to be my home base. I hope to always be teaching parents locally and offering the support and education parents need and are hungry for. Presently I teach an on-going Parent-Child Connections program for parents of 10-18 yr. olds on Tuesdays that follows the school calendar — and a Thursday program for parents of 6-12 year olds with changing themes.
