Bluestem Films is a South Central Minnesota based video/photo business specializing in everything from weddings, to commercial videography/photography.

I am a Senior Team Lead for the Gustavus Fine Arts Department. I House Manage events, edit sound for our podcasts, conduct analytics on and strategize our social media campaigns. I am also involved in helping train new teammates.

While at CertainTeed, I created well over 40-50 training videos (each ranging from 5-20 minutes long) for positions ranging from production to shipping to maintenance and safety. I gained skills in project management, instructional design, video editing, vector art animation, time management, and more.

At Guaranteed Rate, I helped with client pipeline management. My tasks primarily consisted of following up with clients or other related parties to keep files moving forward consistently and efficiently. Because of this, I learned to overcome my fear of calling people - now I am happy to talk to a real person, even if it's just over the phone! Due to finance's uncertain and often chaotic nature, we had a few clients who got emotional about their personal affairs. Through experiencing these clients' small moments of crisis, I gained a greater passion for personalized customer support - my frame of thought (in all my work) is now, "How can I help my client solve a problem?" Not, "How can I make money off of this person?"

I briefly worked in the Alumni and Parent Engagement Office on the Gustavus campus. I gained data entry and file management skills.

At the Golf and Country Club, I helped manage the pro shop. I did everything from checking in players, stocking and selling equipment, cleaning carts, setting up tournaments, and more. Because I was a manager, I was taught how to open and close the shop independently, which taught me time management, till management, and personal responsibility.

At Dairy Queen, I did a little bit of everything. From making ice cream products to mopping the floor, I learned to do as much as possible. By the end of my time on the team, I was able to manage the kitchen (all hot food) during a rush by myself. Being my first real job, I learned a lot about time management, team relations, and customer service.
