Apex Fire Preparedness LLC was founded by Trevor Searle and Conner Nelson. The two met on a wildland fire crew, working fires around the country during the summers. They saw the need for a more proactive approach to fire fighting and homeowners’ need to prepare for the worst-case scenario. Apex Fire Preparedness specializes in defensible space and fuel mitigation work around Northern Utah. Fuel mitigation includes selective thinning, clearing of underbrush, limbing of trees, and the removal of dead materials. Defensible space allows emergency responders a safe area around the house to protect it from a wildfire along with giving it the best chance of survival if firefighters are unable to protect the property. Conner is a Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist through the NFPA. Trevor and Conner apply their years of experience with fire dynamics to lower fire risk while leaving behind valuable vegetation to maintain greenery around homes. Apex is driven by the mission of reducing the risk of fire-related destruction and fatalities in residential communities throughout Northern Utah.

Responsibilities: Firefighter on national response Type 2IA hand crew, local wild land interface initial attach, assisting Sheriff’s department search and rescue operations, and local fuel clearing. (This is seasonal employment May-October)

As an EMS intern at Utah County Fire Department, I have planned and given medical trainings relevant to work in the wild land environment, ordered medical supplies, and built medical bags for both local and National resources.

Responsibilities: Management of subcontractors, writing RFI’s, plan review, and estimating.

Responsibilities: Kite board sales specialist, surf/paddle board sales and rentals, stocking and ordering product.
