Dr. Connie Carson’s 40-year diversified career in healthcare has spanned oncology, rehabilitation, and transplant medicine. For fourteen years, she acted as a healthcare consultant and website author for the oncology division of HCA. Inc., the parent company of HealthOne. She authored ten Toolboxes (books) which were printed and also distributed electronically to HCA facilities. Most recently, she authored the book, Fitness for Cancer Patients, which is available in hard copy or electronically on Amazon. The book is also offered on a microchip embedded in a bracelet. Dr. Carson obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Denver and her M.S. from Washington University in St. Louis. She has been a speech-language pathologist for over forty years and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. She was the founding Executive Director of the Mile High Transplant Bank, which has since merged with Donor Alliance. Connie’s passion is found in helping cancer survivors become more physically fit. Currently an active volunteer, she hosts Feisty Fit Females, a monthly educational seminar for women cancer survivors that addresses fitness and wellness issues. Her current research interests include Cancer Treatment Related Cognitive Impairment (CTRCI), commonly referred to as “chemobrain,” She and her colleague, Julia Osborne, PT, recently did a two hour seminar on this topic at the American Speech-Language Hearing Association national convention. She is the President of the Board of Directors of Colorado Wild Women, an organization dedicated to helping women train for triathlon. An avid funologist, skier, golfer, open-water swimmer, and triathlete, she lives in Colorado with her husband.

Her current clinical research interest includes the relevance of cognitive training and exercise for the treatment of Cancer Treatment Related Cognitive Impairment (CTRCI), commonly referred to as "chemobrain."Almost thirty years ago, Dr. Carson was the founding Executive Director of the Mile High Transplant Bank (MHTB) which merged with Donor Alliance. At the time, MHTB was the second largest tissue bank in the United States, second only to the US Navy’s bone bank. After leaving MHTB, she designed and taught seminars which addressed the skills needed by organ and tissue recovery coordinators to offer the option of organ and tissue donation to grieving families.Currently an active volunteer, she hosts Feisty Fit Females, a monthly educational seminar for women cancer survivors that addresses fitness and wellness issues. Dr. Carson also facilitates a weekly support group for aphasic patients and their caregivers. She serves on numerous Boards including Colorado Wild Women, which helps women train for triathlons. This past summer she swam the Alcatraz Challenge, an event she described as "deliciously difficult."
