I spent 38 years building a career in Aerospace Maintenance at Tinker Air Force Base. I am proud of my accomplishments (along with many others) in building the roadmap to what has become known as an "Art of the Possible" mindset. A mindset that values building relationships with those that can positively influence your objective so you can work together to be successful!Alongside that achievement, I have worked hard to be a voice to see women's rights align with human rights through my involvement with the Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma and Zonta International. I have enjoyed working with other Zonta volunteers to put on 15 golf tournaments that provided funds towards service with like-minded organizations (YWCA SANE, Neighborhood Services Organization and Dragonfly to name a few) as well as fund educational awards to ensure we have women positioned in roles of science, business and public service. Our funds also help Zonta Foundation for Women sponsor international service projects such as "Let Us Learn Madasgascar" that provided funds to build a school in Madagascar and provide education for girls.Each of these endeavors places value on understanding and improving both processes and relationships. We have to have a standard, repeatable process to get us to where we want to be -- routinely, not by happenstance -- and we need those enablers around us to understand the help we need from them in order for everyone to feel we were successful. We need ACTION, and ACTION does not happen alone -- we need help from others to make ACTION happen -- hence the relationships!I am happy to serve in my current role as Governor of Zonta District 10 (Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana) where I have a wonderful board, club leadership and past governors to ensure we continue to fulfill our mission of empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy!
