I am the National Adoption Advocate, Owner of Going Adoption and Surrogacy, as well as the founder of The Adoption Advocacy Center. Above all, I am dedicated to making a difference in the world. I have over 30 years of experience in the child welfare arena where I have been able to complete over 2000 adoptions! In 2012 I had the honor of being awarded the prestigious National Angels in Adoption Congressional Designation for my outstanding efforts. In 2014, I was awarded the Irene Sullivan Adoption Award. Lastly, in 2015, I was awarded the very first “Let It Be Us!”” Adoption Advocate of the Year. I am a certified adoption expert as well as a national adoption speaker, trainer, and educator. Back in 2013 I created a weekly television series called “Wednesday's Child”. This allowed for over 250 children to receive an increased level of recruitment efforts. This series then led to “The Davion Effect”. It started with me taking Davion, who is now my adopted son, to church to speak about his desire for a forever family. His speech then turned into an international news story. This allowed for his specific case to gain mass media coverage worldwide. Out of this experience, I was able to partner and co-create with Cairs – a computer software company – The system Inquiry/Match. This is still used today to ensure that every child in foster care has an immediate response and process to be matched. This has further allowed for systems of care to be held accountable for every child that is available to be adopted. I have also been able to create marketing and social media efforts for adoption agencies and a weekly radio blog that highlights the issues of domestic, foster, and international adoption.I have a wide range of speaking experience. I have been able to share my thoughts and experiences on television as well as in front of crowds ranging from 3000 to 5000 people. A few places I’ve been invited to are Daytime, The View, ABC Evening News with Dianne Sawyer, CBS Evening News: On the Road with Steve Hartmans, Woman’s World, People Magazine, Huffington Post, Weekly News, and the list continues to grow. In my personal life, I am a proud mother of four amazing children. Adoption has always been a passion of mine. It became more personal when I was able to adopt my son Taylor at 12 and Davion at 17. Both love and determination motivate me to be the parent they both need and deserve.
