For many years I served as a Doping Control Officer for the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS), the statutory authority for drug-testing in sports in South Africa.I later branched out into the 2010 FIFA World Cup Local Organising Committee, where I served as a Coordinator in the Medical Department of the LOC and learned the finer points of event-based medical planning.I was therefore well-prepared to assume my present role as Manager: Medical Department at the South African Football Association, whilst serving as the Personal Assistant of the General Secretary of the Association. These dual roles have given me the opportunity to look at football in a global manner and has sparked an interest in general management in football.
