A fantastic role which enables me to expand the age range of children that I work with, and teach an additional language. I am now preparing children for their Common Entrance and Scholarship level entrance exams. The levels are similar to GCSE and A Level but with some different foci, which has been a wonderful opportunity to use my previous knowledge and experience and adapt it to a new context. I work with children from Year 3 to Year 8 and teach both French and Latin. I am also head of PSHE for the whole school which is an excellent whole school opportunity. I work with all teaching staff across the school and liaise with staff, children, parents and SLT to review, update and improve PSHE provision. I have carried out surveys, student voice panels and created a new PSHE and RSE policy for consultation. I have planned and implemented staff CPD both internally and with external providers. I have implemented new Schemes of work across the school and an assessment system to monitor progress in PSHE. I run parent consultation evenings and have organised drop down days for children. As part of the role I work closely with the Senior School pastoral scheme to deliver the Girls on Board programme.

Head of MFL department offering French and Spanish at KS3 and KS4. Designed and implemented a total update of the MFL curriculum in line with the new GCSE to ensure better student progress is made.

This new position is enabling me to work a new group of students and enhance my experience in the field of education. I am running the Higher Tier extra curricular session three to support and challenge KS4 students, with the aim of increasing students' attainment and progress. I am working with the department to ensure spontaneous speech is a regular feature in lessons and that students are able to manipulate language using grammar rules which will lead to an ability to translate and write accurately. I have recently been asked to look at the KS3 scheme of work to update it in line with the new GCSE. I have also introduced a new rewards structure to the MFL department at TTS to motivate students and raise the profile of languages across the school. I will be delivering some staff training on vocabulary and translation skills. From a pastoral perspective I am co-tutor of a vertical tutor group, this system has enhanced my knowledge of the support that is necessary for students in years seven through to thirteen. This aims of the daily tutor session are broad; ranging from a desire to strengthen students' knowledge and understanding of current affairs to ensuring that all students receive important messages in line with whole school policy. As a co-personal tutor I attend meetings with parents; reporting on overall progress, discussing notes relevant to each year group, discussing work experience placements, GCSE, Post Sixteen and Further Education options. In addition to the sessions at TTS, I have been asked to deliver some sessions at its sister school, Madeley Academy. This is a unique opportunity which increases the range of students with whom I have contact.

At Baxter College I have taught KS3 to KS5 Italian and French. Last year I was responsible for creating scheme of work and assessment materials for year eight French students. I have since been given responsibility for creating a scheme of work and assessments for the whole of KS3 ItalianI also set up and ran a club for students with English as an Additional language and helped members of staff with strategies to support EAL students. I have a real passion for finding the most effective ways to support EAL students, both in academically and pastorally. My focus here has been on supporting EAL students when they is a low incidence rate, this is informed by the research I completed at Oxford University and a CPD course I attended. I have been a form tutor to year 7 students, overseeing their pastoral needs. I attend meetings with parents, refer students to mentors and monitor their attendance and behaviour. I introduced a 'word of the day' that is shown to all students to raise the profile of languages within the college.

This role included setting up equipment and restoring it to correct place and maintaining highlevels of cleanliness and tidiness of the sports centre and surrounds. I was responsible for opening and securing school, sports centre and surroundings and had to take payments and bookings, over the phone, through email and in person. I was further required to deal with customer complaints ensuring that the highlest level of professionalism was maintained and that the situation was resolved. Overseeing the running of the childrens play scheme, birthday parties, ensuring staff are working safely and effectively was one of my duties, as was the daily and weekly cashing up. As part of the role I promoted existing and new schemes/ leagues/ activities that would increase user numbers. I also had to ensure contracts, club sheets and booking forms were up to date and managed the online statistics figures.

As a play leader it was my duty to organise and lead sports sessions for children between the ages of five and sixteen. The play scheme ran throughout scholastic holidays and each day a different set of children would attend. Every day here was different, activities would vary depending on the interests of the children who attended, the staff on hand and the availability of equipment and facilities. Ensuring children’s safety and welfare was of upmost importance and I had to do this at the same time as adapting activities to the needs of the group to providing a fun day for the children. I delivered first aid and was responsible for signing the children in and out of the scheme. As part of this role I also ran children’s birthday parties, with group size varying from 3 to 30 children. A further responsibility was coordinating with the local youth club to organise and deliver 1 hour sessions for their youth groups. Again, each group was different and every evening with them required patience and the use of my initiative to keep their attention and ensure everyone was safe and well looked after.

I was the assistant programme leader of a residential programme, overseeing 5 senior mentors, who each had a group of up to twelve sixteen year olds. I ran evening activities for the whole group and helped with to organise and deliver a talent show. I liaised with community partners, to promote the programme and its participants and accompanied mentors while they were on visits. I was responsible for the behaviour of the group, offering support to mentors and dealing with issues that arose.

As an assistant I assisted residents with daily care, ensuring all hygiene needs were met. I helped to create stimulating activities and encouraged the residents to participate. Being calm and considerate was imperative to ensure that all of the needs of individuals were met. I worked as part of a large team that delivered continual team and thus communication was key.

During the summer of 2012 I completed an eight week summer contract in the Port Bourgenay holiday village. The village contained nearly two thousand houses and apartments and the Pierre and Vacances company was responsible for over five hundred of these. Whilst working for Pierre et Vacances I was responsible for the arrivals and departures of guests. I handled telephone enquirers and gave out general tourist information to guests. I worked with the UNIX program also used TONED. I was a member of a large team and developed excellent working relationships with my colleagues and superiors. I worked with a primarily French clients and colleagues.

My role here is very diverse. In some lessons I assist the teachers and children with pronunciation and vocabulary. In others I plan and deliver full lessons about Britsih culture odd current affairs in the UK whilst developing on language knowledge. I also deliver the Cambridge Univeristy ESOL course at PET and FCE level.

With Mad-Science I worked with primary school children and delivered a fun twelve week science program. We covered a different topic each week and the sessions included hands on practical exercises and demonstrations. I had to plan and prepare a safe yet engaging lesson each week and worked in 3 different Primary school across Lancashire.
