Leveraging my passion for positive social change, I collaborated with key stakeholders at all levels to create, deploy, and support a highly technical social impact project based on virtual reality (VR) technology. In short, PPFA developed an immersive VR experience called Across the Line, which initially required a trained staff to host in order to facilitate thoughtful conversation after the movie about the potential bullying and harassment issues surrounding safe and legal abortion. In short, PPFA developed an immersive VR experience called Across the Line, which initially required a trained staff to host in order to facilitate thoughtful conversation after the movie about the potential bullying and harassment issues surrounding safe and legal abortion. I created new screening modules and a discussion guide to prepare the movie for unguided viewing in people’s homes, working with vendors and affiliate locations to ensure the entire project achieved the desired outcomes. I also put together a brainstorming event at Facebook in collaboration with Oculus VR for Good to unite executives, staff, and subject matter experts in a meaningful discussion about youth sex-ed.
