Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and equitably when receiving services in our community, especially in areas of health and safety. I love working in roles that improve our lives and enhance our communities. Protecting our most vulnerable populations with a social network to ensure basic needs are being met is near and dear to my heart. This is one reason I enjoy my current role as a Child Care Health Consultant so much. Providing tools and resources to people passionate about early childhood education and development. I have the opportunity to listen to their dreams and goals while providing actionable steps and recommendations so they can make these dreams a reality. Every day, I have the opportunity to put together a puzzle. A puzzle of people: helping them clarify their goals and identify potential barriers they might face along the way. I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to break these barriers down so the puzzle fits together. Working with diverse populations with a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds has shown me the importance of communication and collaboration. I take my time working with each person so I understand their goals, and what motivates them: building trust and rapport along the way. Building a stronger connection helps them see the best path forward to ensure their success. I’ve been recognized throughout my career for my ability to streamline and improve systems and strategies. I notice the small things that others miss and am able to easily foresee obstacles and determine how to avoid them. I enjoy the work of reviewing and improving systems to ensure they are efficient and effective as possible. Maintaining my integrity and reliability in my work is extremely important to me. If I say I’ll do it, it will get done.
