Connie Hess is the Vice President and Partner of Valley Engineering (VE). Connie joined the firm in 2000 bringing her expertise in business operations and management, strategic and financial planning, and benefits coordination. With her assistance, VE has increased staffing by over 300% through various strategic acquisitions and planned staffing, increased gross billings and overall profitability on a per employee basis, and continued to diversify and expand its regional presence. In 2005, Connie assisted in negotiating an acquisition which established the Building Systems Department of VE to include Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering, which allowed the company to expand its presence in the field of healthcare design. Healthcare design now accounts for over 80% of VE’s work load and has allowed the development of mutually beneficial relationships with local, regional, national, and international design firms servicing both the public and private healthcare.In 2014, Connie returned to Liberty University to pursue her Master’s in Business Administration. With 14 years of experience under her belt and surviving the ‘economic’ meltdown that crippled many in the engineering industry, Connie knew the company needed a new direction. Connie found her passion in organizational behavior and development; she began developing a High Performance Group training program, specifically for VE. This training begin with the management team and expanded to the entire organization. During this time, VE experienced unprecedented growth and renewal. The High Performance Group training continues today, once a month, at VE. In February 2017, the firm relocated to their new 19,000 sq. foot office building, programmed specifically for the team’s ‘High Performance Culture’. This move would not have been possible without the transformation the company experienced over the last few years. Company culture remains a top priority for VE’s entire leadership team.
