Unlike any other practicing family law attorney in Western Michigan, Connie has obtained the designation and certification of a Certified Divorce Financial Analysts. To earn the designation, she successfully completed exams in the areas of tax and financial matters. Connie is also a licensed Real Estate Broker and is the Co-Owner of Esquire Realty Group LLC. She is also a Co- Owner of a collection agency established to assist with the collection of child support, alimony, property settlements and other debt collection. Connie was selected as the Best Lawyer of the Year in the area of Family Law for Grand Rapids Michigan by The Best Lawyers in America in 2011, 2015 and 2017. She was also once again named as a Super Lawyer in the area of Family Law.Connie concentrates her practice in the areas of complex litigated and Collaborative Divorce Practice including business valuations, custody, child support, domestic violence cases, spousal support and parenting time matters. She is a trained and certified mediator of family law cases and certified in domestic violence screening protocol. Connie was the lead trial attorney in Drummer v. Zheutlin Docket No. 278275 (Mich App) (2007), Lemmen v. Lemmen 481 Mich 164 (2008) and Lemmen v. Lemmen WL 45959 (Mich App) unpublished (2010). She also practices in the area of estate planning, business and real estate. Connie is a Fellow in the AAML. With only 6 other fellows in Western Michigan, Connie has passed the rigorous screening and credentials required by this organization. Fellows are required to have at least ten years of experience in family law, recognition by the bench and bar for professionalism and integrity, continued legal education and meet publication requirements. All Fellows must pass though the interview process and a rigorous exam.Connie was recently nominated by her peers and accepted to the Leading Lawyers in the area of Family Law.
