• Providing connection/joint designs and calculations to both the Eurocodes (EC3), and British Standards (BS 5950).
• Discussing design requirements and specifications with clients, and providing alternative solutions should a compromise be required.
• Briefing in-house CAD technicians/draftsmen, checking and approving final design models.
• Management and approval of subcontracted designs, providing assistance to consultancies where required (primarily in regards to manufacture).
• Production of Excel Spreadsheets and Macros to automate many of the repetitive processes involved in the design of connections and joints.
• Taking part in regular value engineering meetings to discuss opportunities to improve the design and manufacture processes.
