- Provided weekly individual sessions to support students with issues such as transitioning to college, stress management, identity formation, loneliness, homesickness, and relationship problems.- Applied therapeutic skills during sessions such as non-verbal attendance, restatements, open and closed questions, identification and contextualization of feelings, summarization, and goal setting.- Made referrals to other campus support services such as licensed counselors, group therapy, outreach events, and campus clubs and activities.- Completed documentation at the conclusion of each session consisting of case content, reflection, and patient concerns, which need to be discussed with the supervising psychologist.- Created, organized, and managed outreach events on mindfulness, stress, and support services to educate students and faculty.- Advocated for improvements in university policy to improve mental health support and education by meeting with student and faculty leaders and the Psychology Department Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion.- Engaged in weekly supervision meetings with the Counseling Center Director to develop treatment skills and address any concerns involving patients.
