Receiving and Managing Calls: Employees answered calls from individuals who tested positive for COVID-19, those who had been in close contact with positive cases, or people seeking information about the testing and isolation process. Guiding Through the Process: They provided clear instructions on how to get tested, what steps to take if someone tested positive, and how to properly isolate to prevent further spread. This included explaining government guidelines and any legal obligations.Contact Tracing: Employees collected details of recent contacts from individuals who tested positive and entered this information into a database. They then contacted those people to inform them of their exposure and advised them on testing and isolation.Data Entry and Reporting: Information from calls was logged into a system to track the spread of the virus and to ensure accurate records were kept. This data was crucial for public health monitoring and decision-making.Providing Support and Reassurance: They often needed to reassure and support people who were anxious or confused, offering advice on accessing further help, including medical care or financial support for those isolating.Escalation of Cases: Complex cases, such as those needing medical advice or those involving vulnerable individuals, were escalated to the appropriate health or social care teams.Adhering to Privacy and Confidentiality Protocols: Employees had to ensure that all personal data was handled securely and in compliance with GDPR and other relevant legislation.
