• Responsible for management of medical secretaries and outpatient clinics for department• Ensure Consultant leave is reflected in the clinic templates and clinics are closed far enough in advance to ensure the smooth running of service• Scheduling appointments in accordance with the correct consultant and hospital

• Collating and presenting figures relating to service performance• Undertaking one-to-one & performance review meetings with staff• Responsible for training new members of staff to a high standard & advising managers of any issues when necessary• Supervising staff to ensure that operating lists are booked efficiently and within 4 weeks of the list going ahead

• Responding to patient enquires on the telephone and by email.• Daily Liaison with Clinicians to ensure that patients are appropriately booked for their surgical procedure• Meet regularly with the General Surgery management team to review the Inpatient waiting lists• Attend the weekly multidisciplinary team meeting• Working with the cancer services team and liaise with them re dates for their patients that are urgent

• Receiving and distribution of high value stock, ensuring that all relevant paperwork is collated and authorised where necessary.• Completion of daily picks and inbound deliveries, along with maintenance of stock integrity and departmental housekeeping• Acted into the Team Leader role for 10 months to cover absence• Scanning & labelling of all received and distributed goods.
