Company is involved with the production, processing and distribution of meat products. My role involved designing and overseeing the manufacturing of various food-grade components to be retrofitted to existing machines or as standalone machines. Design work was carried out using SolidWorks to develop the 3D component models and production drawings. Visualize 360 was used to develop design renders to be communicated with the company technician and production manger. Manufacturing processes utilized included, CNC laser cutting and bending of both sheet and tube steel, welding (light industrial), machining and powder coating. Some key achievements are highlighted below;> Independently designed a retro-fitted, meat patty imprinting wheel in SolidWorks – implemented successfully, saving the company R32 000 by eliminating the need for importing a new die drum> Collaboratively designed retail product display trays in SolidWorks, working with marketing consultants to improve product shelf presence and sales > Independently designed and manufactured a hand-operated, round bar bending machine used to bend meat hooks in-house – saving the company R6499.89 over an initial batch of 500, reducing the cost per unit by R26.42.> Currently (as of Feb 2021) designing stainless steel food-grade, food press systems to increase uniformity in products and increase product yield
