I am a student worker in the Network Engineering department where we manage and maintain the network for the SIU Carbondale campus.

I assist in the day-to-day help desk functions, monitoring the support ticket system regularly, as well as imaging computer labs, troubleshooting and repairing various technical issues that present themselves on the college campus. I work with a small group of other IT student workers to maintain moderate self-sufficiency as to lessen the workload for our supervisor.

I worked directly under the Technical Director of the school district and performed tasks to help him keep the schools in proper running order. I was responsible for imaging computer labs, file transfers for teachers and students, as well as the physical redesign of said computer labs. I worked with the VOIP phone system as well as some experience with the firewall services utilized by the district.
