Lockton provided a fantastic intern experience where I was able to learn, network, and grow. I gained exposure to a new unit every week to learn about the unit and how they interact. Some examples of the units were: claims, Lockton Global Solutions, and property. I was able to learn a lot about the insurance industry as a whole through the unit rotations and training. The training helped me understand the fundamentals of insurance and how Lockton operates to provide clients with best-in-class service. I made weekly presentations about what I learned from the unit I was working with, a final presentation about my experience as a whole, and a group presentation about how Lockton can access top and diverse talent through recruitment. I helped my coach service her accounts and got to sit in on client calls to get exposed to working with clients face-to-face. I also worked on assignments from the different units to learn how each unit is different and help understand why the units are separated.

As a Financial Representative Intern, I would call potential clients to schedule meetings with a full-time advisor so we could find areas in their financial plan where we might be able to help. I learned a lot about different insurance policies and retirement accounts. Most of my time was spent learning in client meetings or communicating with potential clients.

Aldi is a fast-paced work environment that helped me improve my time management, multitasking, customer service, and prioritization skills. I would be responsible for stocking shelves, keeping the store clean, ringing, and whatever unique tasks needed to be done. I was able to improve my time management and multitasking skills by balancing the workload with team members while exceeding standards.
