eruka is a newly formed nonprofit with a vision to fundamentally reimagine housing and financial services that centers equity across people and places. I am supporting eruka’s nascent property-tax reform efforts by using parcel-level data to model how potential changes will affect real communities and providing feedback and analysis of the evolving reform recommendations.

Under faculty supervision, served on a 5-person team of graduate students investigating bias in the home appraisal process at the request of the Chicago Community Trust, one of the country’s largest community foundations. This project included:• A thorough literature review of appraisal bias research and related initiatives and programs• Conducting a dozen structured interviews with policymakers, advocates, and industry representatives• Performing quantitative analysis using the Universal Appraisal Dataset, a large, new, public data released by the Federal Housing Finance Agency• Writing a policy memo on the issue and making recommendations to the client about the most promising solutions• Creating a one-page infographic for education and advocacy efforts with policymakers

• Worked on a team of three, volunteer, student-consultants from the policy school crafting a sample grant as well as a data and evaluation proposal for NeighborScapes, a rehabilitation-focused affordable housing developer working to reinvest in Chicago’s South Side

• Sole author two quantitative-analysis focused program evaluation reports for internal consumption that included data visualizations and summarized findings from an examination of large internal datasets• Presented a summary of key findings at an assembly of internal staff• Wrote all R code used to conduct the quantitative analysis and produce visualizations – datasets were derived from decade-old program and another less than a year old; these programmatic histories created distinct analytic challenges • Worked closely with fulltime staff to understand details of the program design and implementation in order to properly identify dataset parameters, define metrics of interest, and ensure the reports fulfilled the analysis needs of the organization• Met regularly with staff to keep them updated on the projects’ progress and seek clarity or guidance when necessary

• Co-led planning, logistics, and facilitation of a national learning collaborative involving teams with diverse stakeholders from 15 state brain injury service-systems• Managed a team of seven national content and lived-experience experts guiding the learning collaborative's work• Co-authored a qualitative-analysis research paper for the Developmental Disabilities Network Journal exploring themes from subject matter expert's remarks on COVID-19's long and short-term impacts on person-centered practices• Directed an international survey project where providers and service-users were asked about assistive technology knowledge and training; created the survey, analyzed the data, collaborated with the client, and was the primary author of the report• Conducted ongoing program evaluation at the start of a federally-funded national center promoting alternatives to guardianship which involved a multi-state learning community, youth ambassador program, and a national coalition of advocates and service providers• Executed ad-hoc quantitative coding and quantitative analysis for the firm's other projects as necessary• Managed technical logistics for a monthly webinars series with national experts discussing person-centered practices that averaged around 600 attendees per event• Served on an internal Race Equity Team identifying and affecting race-equity reforms at HSRI

• Designed, conducted, and analyzed surveys in coordination with relevant internal teams• Performed original analysis on both internal and public data using STATA and authored reports on findings • Co-facilitated a months-long, multi-site working group which included senior staff that recommended substantial changes to core programming and was primary author on the proposal presented to decision-makers • Conducted an environmental scan of standardized test practices in higher-education which included a literature review and interviews with senior level administrators from a diverse set of institutions• Lead focus groups with coaches related to a family engagement pilot program
